Inkrot — Procreate Brushes by Rik Catlow

Inkrot by RIKCAT — cover art showing the brush list over an illustrated grinning tooth character

Inkrot is a set of Procreate brushes built from real ink, halftones, and print texture, delivering the gritty, hand-printed look of vintage advertising the moment you pick up the brush.

INKROT gives you the gritty, hand-printed look of vintage advertising, ready the moment you pick up the brushes. Pencils, inkers, and texture brushes all built to achieve the look you are after. Scuffed ink, uneven halftones, that slightly-off print charm: it's baked into every brush from the start. Pick up a brush, start drawing, and get rotten.

These brushes have been made with love and care in Austin, TX by Rik Catlow. Inspired by a lifelong love of retro advertising illustration and the printing techniques of the era — the imperfect halftones, the scuffed ink, the slightly-off registration that gave old print ads their character — INKROT set out to bring that texture back into digital work. Every brush was built by hand and tested through hundreds of hours of work. You can see them in action on Instagram.

Felt Tip by RIKCAT — cover art showing a grinning cartoon tooth character

Felt Tip mimics a Sharpie Fine Point marker — bold and opaque, with a bit of edge bleed for that authentic marker fuzziness. I've also updated my old Felt Tip brush to v2.0 for crisper, cleaner strokes, and posted it for free on Gumroad — both versions are included in the pack, so try them both and see which fits your style, or switch depending on the piece.
